Manon Girot

Graduate student • Information Systems • Research (AI-enhanced risk)

Manon is an international graduate student in Information Systems with a background in business and project management. She completed two bachelor’s degrees through an international academic and professional path across France, Spain, Japan, Sweden, and the United States. Studying and working in different countries shaped her ability to adapt quickly, work across cultures, and approach problems from multiple perspectives. Her interest in artificial intelligence and technology-related risks started early, and she completed her bachelor thesis on AI and its implications for organizations. She is currently working as a research assistant in DePaul’s Cybersecurity Clinic on AI-enhanced risk for nonprofit organizations. Her work focuses on identifying AI-related threats and translating them into practical awareness and training materials designed to help nonprofits reduce risk, especially where human behavior and trust can be exploited. She is interested in social engineering, as it highlights the human side of security and shows how influence and decision-making often matter more than technical complexity. Outside of research, Manon values hands-on learning and collaboration. She enjoys working on concrete projects, connecting theory to real situations, and learning from others with different backgrounds. She is motivated by understanding real-world challenges and contributing to more responsible and human-centered approaches to technology and risk.
