The Driehaus College of Business provides three pathways for student participation in a Clinic cybersecurity project. Each pathway is described next.
The first pathway to Clinic participation is to take one of the following experiential (service) learning courses. These courses are centered on a term-long project with a client organization. Students taking one of the following courses earn course credit for their participation. Note that Independent Study course for the Clinic must be approved by a Clinic-affiliated faculty advisor.
ACC 399 – Independent Study
ACC 599 – Independent Study
FIN 399 – Independent Study
FIN 599 – Independent Study
The second pathway to Clinic participation is to complete at least one of the following prerequisite courses or be enrolled in the MSAA degree program; complete the student application; and complete clinic training on working with clients on cybersecurity projects. This second pathway will become available to students in Fall 2025. The list of prerequisite courses is evolving and currently includes:
ACC 374 – Auditing II
ACC 376 – Internal Auditing
ACC 550 - Auditing II
ACC 636 - Internal Auditing, Corporate Governance and Internal Control
FIN 362 – Enterprise Risk Management
FIN 562 – Risk Management
SEV 621 – Strategic Execution
MS Audit and Advisory (MSAA) program enrollment
The third pathway is to obtain special permission from a faculty advisor for the Clinic at your College and complete the student application. For the Driehaus College of Business, the Clinic faculty advisor is Professor David Wang. Such special requests must be accompanied with evidence of relevant experience, such as the student has taken another relevant course that is not listed, or the student has relevant experience. For example, students who have worked on relevant internships are typically eligible to participate in Clinic projects. Students joining the Clinic via special permission will be required to complete a training on working with clients on cybersecurity projects. This third pathway to Clinic participation will become available to students in Fall 2025.
